Ubuntu "Apci error cannot get size"

i get this error in the installer usb, not duelbooting, only 860 EVO 1TB ssd and an old disk drive sitting in the sata ports. z390 asrock motherboard, p4.0 bios, think latest. tried secure boot on/off, uief, and regular booting, tried 18.04 lts, and 16.04 exact same error. no os has ever been on that ssd, so is clean. any idea how to get past this and install the os? the ssd reads no issue on the bios.

is the ssd formated in any way? I know it's brand new but maybe.

into trains? here's the model railroad thread!

The way to get the specs for my PC. go to the store. Buy some potatos. boil them and mash them. and stuff that in a focus g with a ssd.

i don't think so, even with no os its found as bootable by bios, its not going to be a sepearte ssd + hhd for else. @will4623
