NVMe SSD 256GB or SATA SSD 256 GB + 1 TB HDD

Hello guys,

 

I am building a new PC and I am yet to choose which I should do regarding the storage.

 

I was eying the Corsair MP510 - 480GB (90€), but after seeing that I would gaing almost nothing buy buying an NVMe SSD instead of a SATA SSD I am truly confused.

 

So storagewise I was thinking that I could get a regular 1TB Seagate Barracuda + NVMe SSD 256GB or SATA SSD 256 GB

 

My budget is 90€ MAX. I already own a Crucial MX100 256 GB (5 YRS OLD).

 

What you think I should do here? I know that I wont gain FPS, just some faster loading times.

 

I am located in Portugal.

a 500GB SATA SSD? Really depends on how much space you really need

I am currently playing COD MW, it really eats alot of space, arround 160GB of disk space, and also CSGO.

 

I will also install League of Legends and it should be it.

 

the current SSD might be able to handle that, but I dont want to be looking at that almost full red bar tho ?

that shouldn't need more than 200GB, sadly this budget is likely not enough for decent 1TB SSDs of any type

I can actually get Crucial BX500 1TB for 100€, pretty good deal no?

BX500 is really good on the low end, but since it doesnt have DRAM (along with other cheaper bunch of 1TB SSDs like the Kingston A1000) the random r/w performance is decreased compared to SSDs like the MX500 and UV500. Random r/w just so happens to also be a large part of workloads an SSD as a boot disk do.

 

I wont choose that unless 500GB is considered tight.

is the corsair mp510 a good choice? honeastly i think i might go that way again.. I really dont know what to do

arent SATA SSDs at that size a good chunk cheaper? Cuz performance in the real world arent that different

could you sugest brands? forgeting the budget a bit but not going over 110€ ?

dont buy by brands, buy on models. every brand sells garbage of some sort, just to different levels of bad

 

Adata SU800, Crucial MX500, SK Hynix Gold S31, Kingston UV500, WD Blue and Seagate Barracuda 120 are the high end SATA models.

 

Seems like PCPP is not showing the lowest prices (BX500 1TB above 110EUR) so I cant check for you.
