Need help with OBS!

EliasDahlgren

Hi, I'm using Obs for my in-game clips of Csgo. My clips look really pixelated, smokes (in-game) has a bunch of square pixels on the video footage, not smooth at all!
If anything is unclear feel free to ask! here is the video I put together quickly to show the quality. Video

My Output>Recording settings are:
Type - Standard
Recording Format - mkv
Encoder - Nvidia Nvenc h.264 (new)
Custom muxer settings - None
Rate Control - CQP
CQ Level - 20
Keyfram Interval - 0
Preset - Max Quality
Profile - Main
Look ahead - No
Psycho visual tuning - Yes
GPU - 0
Max B-Frames 2

My Output>Replay Buffer settings are:
Enable Replay Buffer - Yes
Maximum Replay Time - 120 s
Maximum Memory (Megabytes) - 2048 MB

My Video settings are:
Base Canvas Resolution - 1920x1080
Output Scale Resolution - 1920x1080
Downscale Filter -Lanczos (Sharpened scaling, 36 samples)
Integer FPS Value - 120 #I had 60 before but I like the 120 fps feel after editing the footage

My PC Specs are:
CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X @ 3.6GHz
RAM - G.Skill 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL14
MOBO - ASUS PRIME X570-P
GPU - ASUS Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB

1TB Samsung 970 EVO (Games etc)
120GB KINGSTON SSD (W10: OS)
1TB Seagate SSHD (This is where the recorded files go)

What's your bitrate? I had problems with OBS video quality but then I changed my bitrate to accommodate my settings better.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Well as you can see I use CQP, my friend told me that could fix the problem, otherwise I've tried decent and very high bitrates such as 10000 to as high as 50000

Pascal's nvenc isn't as good as turing's ones. If you want good quality, use a software encoder instead of nvenc. Be aware that it may slow down your cpu.

Do you mean like x264? Cause that makes my game really laggy when using replay buffer

Yeah. Software encoding provides the best quality, but at the cost of higher resource usage.

Then try higher bitrate, 80mbps or 100mbps. I don't know the upper limit though.

My OBS only record Black when I use the window recorder, I have found out that it can run if I disable the Hardware acceleration in Firefox, but I don't want that. and others programs is still black like the calculator and local programs, the only thing that works is to record the full screen. how do I solve that?
