what board are you using?

First thing, make a image of the drives before you try any recovery.

Do any of the drives have hardware issues?

Is raid mode set up right in the bios?

Make a image with something like dd or hddrawcopy.

Check the manual of the board, its normal under sata settings, how did you setup raid in the first place?

How did you check hdd health? Smart screenshots?

Have you ever made backups?

How much do you care about this data, you really want to get a pro here if you care about the data.

had that too one time, the battery failed, and it restarted CMOS.

Do backups for the future.

I wish BIOS updates didn't do this. I have seen more than a few cases where updating BIOS changes the mode and the RAID vanishes.

There does not seem to be any official protocol when it comes to BIOS updates and retained settings, its kind of random vendor to vendor.

On a positive note switching back to RAID mode will typically bring the RAID back with all of the data intact.
