Is there any disadvantages to using headphones with an audio interface ?

RoryRB

So basically I am going to be getting the behringer umc22 audio interface and since it has a 1/4 inch headache gone jack then would it be ok to use a 3.5mm adapter and use it as a dac to daily drive my headphones. All I’m asking is A) Is there any disadvantages/ flaws with this idea, and B) Is this an okay solution to run for a while (until I get a full new audio setup in August).

CPU: Amd Ryzen 3400g

COOLER: Be Quite Dark Rock Pro 4

MOBO: Aorus x570 elite

RAM: 2x8 Corsair Vengence 3200 MHz

SSD: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB

GPU: Powercolour Red Devil RX570 4GB

PSU: Corsair RM750x 80+ Gold

CASE: Coolermaster H500p Mesh

I'm confused on what you're trying to say.

Disadvantages of using the UMC22 compared to Internal Audio? definitely not, it's far better.

Nope, there aren't any disadvantages in terms of audio quality or delay.

I actually quite like how mine sounds. I own a UMC22 for troubleshooting, but I actually use it quite a bit for listening. It sounds 100x better than any onboard audio. It has 0 lag, very low noise floor, balanced outputs for monitors/speakers etc. Plus it doesn't require any drivers.

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)
