Extreme slowness and input lag on Iphone 6s+ with low battery

Hey everyone

Basically when my phones battery gets to around 8% it becomes virtually unusable. The time for inputs to register and the overall performance of the phone dips to the point where using it becomes like navigating a laggy slideshow. My old iphone (5s) didnt do this and was quite usable up until it went flat and this was convenient as in a situation where i lacked a charger i could turn my phone off to save the last few percent, in case i needed to make an emergency phone call. While i understand that this issue may simply be intrinsic to the hardware i would like to find a fix, and if that isnt possible i would at least like to satisfy my curiosity with an answer as to why this issue might occur on a newer phone running the same version of the OS as the older, slower phone.

That might be apple wanting you to upgrade. But jokes aside, I think the processor probably gets not enough power when the battery dips low.
