Torn between two monitors

nicolas2465

Hi,

I am looking for a 1440p, IPS, freesync (G-sync compatible) monitor.

Here are the best two I found so far : https://www.amazon.ca/Gaming-VG27AQ-G-SYNC-Monitor-155Hz/dp/B07WQ4FXY9/ref=pd_rhf_ee_p_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=8ST89D4FRKKYVTH8E3K4

and: https://www.amazon.ca/BenQ-EX2780Q-Gaming-Monitor-DCI-P3/dp/B07X51X3CB/ref=pd_rhf_ee_p_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=8ST89D4FRKKYVTH8E3K4

Honestly, I'm really torn.  On one hand, the BenQ to me looks nicer, and has speakers (in case I buy a PS5), but it's also more expensive and only tilts.  And I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these two or have any reasons why one would be better?

Hard decision.

You have an RTX2060 according to your signature. FreeSync (AMD) is NOT G-Sync (Nvidia) , and your Nvidia Card will NOT work with the FreeSync (AMD's version of G-Sync) BenQ monitor. So if you want G-Sync, I suggest the Asus monitor since that has G-Sync, which you are looking for.

My bad, I forgot to update that I have a 2070 now.  And I saw some posts saying the BenQ worked with freesync with nvidia cards (with now nvidia allowing it).

I'd spend the extra $50 and get this, with actual GSync:

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0173PEX20?tag=pcp0f-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

They have one in the Warehouse section for $560 if you're not against minor blemishes.

Integrated speakers are such trash I'm not sure why you'd even consider them a feature.

Agreed with this comment. I also have a Predator (X34P) and I stand by it. They are really good (once you manage to get a monitor with no flaws). Saying integrated speakers are trash is putting it lightly. They are an abomination to be avoided like the worse plague that has ever existed across all parallel universes.

That's a good recommendation.  Do you know if there's a way to paint that red off though?  God I hate that red "dragon" gaming look these monitors have.

At that price point I'd consider the TUF gsync from Asus.. I hate to sound so picky but aesthetics do kind of matter to me haha

Not that I can see. I tried pulling out the red ring that puts all cable together and it wouldn't budge. I design for a living, so I can understand you in that regard.
