Help: Bought a used SSD: Is it defective?

gabrimor

Hi!

I bought a used Samsung Evo 850 500GB.

There is a link for the print screen of CrystalDiskMark:

What do you think about the results?

I think 4k readings is below the average, and I'm afraid.

Should I return the SSD?

Thank you!!!

Looks fine to me, I don't see any problem with the results.

I would be more worried about how much it's been written to already... "Open Hardware Monitor" shows remaining life in percentages...

Results are normal. If the SMART chart in magician is good, enjoy it

Thank you for the answers.

The amount of data written is 36TB, which is a huge amount.

SSD Magician reported the SSD as health, and no problems found in the SMART chart.

Finally, HDD Sentinel reported the drive as 73% health, but I think it's not a major reason for worries.

Later, I'll try to check with AS SSD.

That's not a huge amount. It's about what you'd write in 2-3 years on a storage drive.

You should run Crystal Disk Info, not Crystal Disk Mark...
