Ryzen 5 2600x Vs Ryzen 7 2700

Having trouble deciding whether to go for the Ryzen 5 2600x or Ryzen 7 2700 any thoughts or experiences? Wanted for casual gaming if various games such as elder Scrolls, tomb raider, cod etc. This will be my first build so just looking entry level at this point but don't want to be forced to upgrade in a few months at the same time.

For gaming, 6 cores is plenty.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Linux Proliant ML150 G6:

Dual Xeon X5560 - 24GB ECC DDR3 - GTX 750 TI - old Seagate 1.5TB HDD - Dark moded Ubuntu (and Win7, cuz why not)

see if you can go for a 3600 if you can find one. otherwise, between these two the 2600x will likely give better clock speeds and single core performance, which is what gaming will favour over the extra 2c4t of the 2700 which would serve you better if you're doing video editing
