AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Budget Build

Praesi

Hi.

A Friend of mine want this stuff for his PC.

Can someone who is more up to date AMD related verify this?

(Warning! Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.)

No messing with the Bios is important for him.

Thanks in Advance

I'd use the stock cooler that comes with the 3600...after market won't help if he isn't touching the BIOS.  Use the money he saves to add a NVMe m.2 drive at a later date.

What about the Bios Update?

It has to be a Board with no BiosUpdate required.

Hello,

Get a MSI MAX B450 motherboard (A-Pro or Gaming Plus), it should be around 100$.

My bad...didn't read your original statement well.  I've not heard of anyone having to update their BIOS on a B450 board when using a 3600...you have a link to where that information is?

Try picking a different brand of b450 board...does it give you the same warning?

msi b450 max boards have ryzen 3000 ready bios. so if you're getting one of them, you don't need to worry, even if pcpartpicker gives a warning

Ok, thanks everybody.

I go with the B450 A-Pro.

In case he has to flash the bios  for some reason, he dont need another cpu to do it.

Thanks

To guarantee the BIOS are ready out of the box, he'll need either X570 or B450 Max.
