AMD Ryzen 9 3950x temperature?

Go to solution Solved by Mholes,

From experience with my 3900X ->

Your 3950X is just boosting, background applications are loading etc. like Steam. Your 3950X will load something and briefly use it's boost voltages -> 1.498V

This is what makes it jump in temp. Nothing out of normal.

I have a 3950x with a be quiet dark rock pro 4.

The CPU temp on idle is jumping between 44C to up to 60C within seconds,

It can go down to 44C and suddenly jump back up to 55C.

Whats happening here? The RPM of the cooler is running at around 600.

Whats the normal idle CPU temp with a cooler like this?

600 can not be the max RPM of the cooler, super silent setup?

Just cuz you are not doing anything, doesn't mean computer is idle... put it to sleep or shutdown.

If CPU really was idle it should drop down to about the same as ambient(room) temp...

Numbers you post are not extremely high, but are you sure cooler was installed properly?
