cooling, airflow, and power

					Finally settled on a build for my first gaming pc.    https://pcpartpicker.com/user/jobejo64/saved/#view=fqD2Vn   I do have some concerns and questions.   I'm trying to figure out optimal fan placement.  I'm putting 3 intake in the front and 1 exhaust in the back...theres room for two more  up top and one at the bottom.  Should I put one at the at the top back for another exhaust or find another intake? Is the dark rock pro 4 good enough to cool the 3950x?  I don't really plan to overclock the cpu much and I'm hoping to have good airflow.  I really don't want to use an aio I'm also worried about my psu.  PC part picker says i'll be using around 508 wats, but I'll be over clocking my gpu.  I'll be using th ftw3 and I know it can pull like 340 wats.  Should I go with a bigger psu?

Good parts selection overall! I would make a few changes personally but there's nothing wrong with what you have chosen. The Meshify is my favorite case I have ever owned. My system is configured with 2x 140mm fans for intake, and 2x 120mm fans for exhaust. One at the top above my air cooler, and another at the back, ambient case temps are very good even when the CPU and GPU are under load. 

 

The Dark Rock Pro 4 is a great cooler, you'll be just fine. I agree with going the non-AIO route, I got rid of my AIO in favor of a large air cooler. 

 

1000W is overkill, the estimated max draw in PCpartpicker is rarely ever reached if at all. I have an OC'd 3800x and OC'd GTX 1080Ti, plus lots of other components, with an 850W PSU. My systems "estimated" draw is 660W, I've never seen my UPS record anything above 550W . TBH that's the only thing I would really recommend changing. Get an 850W Platinum PSU. I recommend these:

Thank you!  So you'd recommend going two 140mm fans in front vs 3 120?

Both options are fine, I just went that route so I could leave the PSU shroud closed, and because both my 3.5" HDD bays are occupied. I could slide the HDD tray back to accommodate a 3rd 120mm fan if I wanted but I already have so many cables coming off my PSU, a triple 120mm intake fan setup did not feel necessary. I still get good airflow right to my GPU. Either option is good, its up to you.

Bottom intake is pointless, there is a big PSU shroud covering the entire bottom of the case.

All g haha! The fractal cases of old allowed for more fan mounting options than some of the new porducts.
