upgrading GPU, will i need a new PSU?

Arika

So i think I've finally decided that i'm going to get a new GPU after putting it off for months and months i'm just going to do it in the next few weeks

The only question that remainsis; will my existing PSU cut it with the new GPU?

Current power supply: Silverstone 500W SFX-L

Upgraded GPU: 2060 Super

CPU: 7600k @ 4.7Gz

no water cooling

i know Nvidia recommend 550W but they always seem to overshoot their requirements in the past, no idea if it's still accurate

And still do. An overclocked 4 core i5 and an RTX 2060 will draw like 300 watts max

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You PSU is decent but get a 650W for future room, always gonna get something extra, fans,RGB leds (strips), drivers

You will OC upgrade RAM.... ect. At that time 500W wont be enough

PS: even now you are at the very limit.

Your current power supply will be fine. No need to change it.
