Commandos Carbine Evo 4 Plus (Clevo NH50RC) Short REVIEW

Short Review on Commandos Carbine Evo 4 Plus (Clevo NH50RC)

Specs:

Intel® Core™ i5-9300H

GTX 1660 Ti MaxP (80W)

GC Extreme thermal paste

16gb 2666MHz Dual Channel

512gb SSD

15.6” slim bezel (AUO21ED) 60Hz with 45% ntsc

150W charger

Bought from Tech Armory. Delivery take 2 days after payment, very fast and great customer service. Come with very simple box, inside are laptop, charger, receipt, and thumbdrive (for image recovery) and free laptop backpack.

Overall build quality is very good to me despite all plastic build. Chassis and monitor have little flex when pressed/twisted. Touchpad is good to me, very tactile (dedicated), Keyboard is great, decent key travel, Single zone multiple color (not RGB)

Right side port is fan exhaust, sd card, display port, and usb 3.1. Left side is kengsinton lock, fan exhaust, usb 3.1, usb 3.0, mic input, and headphone output. Behind is  exhaust fan,usb type C, HDMI, ethernet, and charging port.

Speaker volume is kinda low to me, a little disappointment honestly. Maybe because my previous laptop, N56VZ speaker was too good.

Performance & Thermal

CPU

Excellent thermal! Come with undervolted core and cache -0.05. I further undervolted to -0.140

Idle temp: (Stock -0.05) 42C (Auto fan)

                 (-0.140) 42C

Max CPU temp, AIDA64 :(stock -0.05) 82 C, stable at 71C (Max fan)

                                         (-0.140) 75C, stable at 70C (Max fan)

CPU Speed:   Stock (Stable at 3.6 GHz)

                     -0.140 (Stable at 3.9Ghz)

GPU:

Test with Heaven 4.0 (Ultra setting, DX11, 8x AA)

Stock: Temp: 71C (max fan)

OC : Temp 72C (max fan) (+100Mz Core, +350Mhz Memory)

Test with 3D Mark 11 (performance mode)

Stock: score 16182

OC: score 16646

Overall, this is the best 1660 ti laptop due to its price. RM3704 on CNY promo (about USD 911). I waited for i7 version but still not arrived, so had to grab this one. Still, it is the best price to performance laptop available imo. Superb thermal, Good build quality, various ports, super affordable for 1660 Ti.

Any further questions, you can ask me ?. Sorry for my review, first time and just a very short one.

Hi, could you do some benchmarks in Games? The thing which is interesting to me is fan sped during intense gaming and temperatures. i5 from what I know tends to be emitting very low temperatures comparing to i7 so in my opinion you made a good choice.

IMO If you won't do any CAD and advanced graphic design programs on it I then I think it should be good enough for you.

in other words you wouldn't say that this clevo model is " hot" and at the same time you can get most of waht you need from GTX 1660ti?
