Which monitor to get?

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

Hey. I’ve been looking for a new monitor and am now deciding between these two:

Msi Optix MAG271CQR ($380 dollars at Walmart right now)

https://us.msi.com/Monitor/Optix-MAG271CQR/Specification

Msi Optix MPG27CQ ($430 dollars at Walmart right now)

https://us.msi.com/Monitor/Optix-MPG27CQ/Specification

I can’t seem to see a difference between them, and therefor no reason to go for the more expensive one. So I was wondering if there are any differences I missed and is it is worth $50 more dollars. Thanks!

Ok well, now I know the difference, thanks. But I’m wondering, my current monitor is 300 nits and it’s fine, also I’m not a super competitive gamer, so is it worth 50 dollars more?

the response time if accurate in the think posted, 14ms vs 6ms would justify the cost if i played any games.

I don’t know how much I trust that gpucheck place, I’ve seen information different than the manufacturer’s information on there once before.

IMO the MPG27CQ is the better. It has better black uniformity (less BLB)

The MAG271CQR has terrible BLB / flashlighting.
