I am planning to take my computer from the UK to Greace and back. I will be going from Gatwick to Corfu and back. Any advice or what and what not to do. Is it allowed in hand luggage.

You can carry it on, just don't have anything illegal on it.

computer being desktop or laptop?

laptops are a pretty common thing as carry-on, desktops... not so much.

I'd keep it backed up remotely on a cloud and/or copies somewhere secure. Not the first time a corrupt officer has unlawfully seized computer equipment!

That being said, just don't keep anything illegal on it. They generally won't get forensic on it unless you are already flagged. Don't have porn as your background image either... have it reasonably nicely packed (a good laptop bag if it's a laptop) and make it look like you look after it (and not something you'll destroy five minutes outside of the airport) and you should breeze through the checkpoint

Best people to ask would be your airline. I've worked for airlines for years although not in for a while now so I'm not up with current regulations. It wouldn't be the strangest thing I've seen onboard, that would be Billy Connollys head.

Also make sure it's well within the size and weight limits for carry on. You wouldn't want them taking it off you at the gate and literally throwing it in the hold.
