Driver Nightmare

Baron623

Hello,

Just built a new system.  My motherboard is the Asus ROG Strix x570-I.  For some reason I do not have any audio through rear io.  RealTek drivers are installed, straight from the asus website.  The device manager does not recognize that speakers or headphones are plugged in.  It only recognizes Nvidia High Definition Audio as a device.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers several times and looked around the internet for a while and I found this.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/all/realtek-audio-console-not-opening-gives-error/428d86bd-0fac-46d7-8a8f-eac9a4543e0b

When I looked in services, RealTek Universal Audio Service was missing.  I'm not sure how to continue.  I'm really really hoping that this is a driver problem, or maybe I'll just have to refresh windows.  The only other thing I can think of is that the board is defective.

From the audio output, a bit unlikely.

Google Realtek drivers and download them from the site, not Asus site

Prehaps the audio device could have been disabled in sound manager. I would check device manager.

And of course the audio device has to be enabled in the bios.

There is no replacement for RGB except more RGB ?

But not if the audio device itself is deactivated in the bios.

There is no replacement for RGB except more RGB ?

Never get generic drivers from realtek. Always get the drivers that are customized for the board from the motherboard site.

My experience is exactly the opposite: Never get drivers from the board manufacturers website as they are usually (very) outdated.
