AMD News Conference

douchecanoe

Just preemptively making a topic for the AMD conference later today

Here's the link to watch

ir.amd.com

And the AMD story about them hosting the conference

http://www.amd.com/us/press-releases/Pages/amd_2013_ces.aspx

In their little paragraph on their website they talk about both mobile computing and gaming systems, but I hope we don't have another Nvidia conference on our hands

All I can hope for is the announcement and some details of the 8000 series

Less of this mobile crap, we have Tegra and ARM for that, AMD shouldn't be focusing on it

When they say "gaming systems" I hope they're not talking about their involvement in game consoles, we want graphics cards!

At least they don't use any of those buzzwords, and don't seem to be talking about any more cloud "solutions"

What are your thoughts?

I watched the whole Nvidia press release at 1AM last night and got nothing out of it, hopefully AMD will be overflowing with info about the 8000 series. This will definitely focus on the 64bit ARM server processors though. Thanks for the link

I really think it's going to be more mobile oriented, to my dismay

Hopefully talk about desktop GPU's, or desktop hardware in general (extreme lack of that at CES this year)

Hold on! They're still announcing more! They might save the best for last!

That new Asus laptop they showed off was nice as well, just have to wait for the benchmarks

Reminded me of a UX32VD but whatever GPU is in there is probably better than the 620m

Holy crap, Temash looks amazing!

Dirt Showdown at 1080p, running pretty damn smooth! Looks better than Tegra 4, but probably has the price point to come along with it

Temash is x86 though, but it was pretty impressive

Yeah, but still, that performance in that form factor? Unheard of

Battery life will be slashed though, especially with the 15w TDP

Too bad Intel's got the 7w now

Nevermind, Kabini was 15w

Temash can go down to 5w!

Okay

No 8000 series

Close the curtains guys, nothing worth noting at CES this year but tablets, tablets, and more tablets (oh, and I guess 4K smart TV's and ultrabooks)

Desktop is dying, oh god

Please ask a question about the 8000 series GPUs.
They're asking really, really dumb questions
