New headphones screw oof the sound in his computer.

I bought my friend a pair of akg's k52 for christmas when he plugges them to his pc the sound contsantly mutes and unmutes itself like every second. Using the headphones in my pc does not do that.Whats wrong?

Is the audio hooked up via either USB or Bluetooth?

Assuming it’s on the motherboard of a desktop or laptop there might be an issue with drivers or something. Try disabling and then turning back on some of the audio devices and usb controllers in device manager. odd stuff can happen with some computers. I have a Dell that has no windows 10 drivers for the audio so the headphone/mic jack has been non functioning sines I updated to 10 and I need to use a USB sound card to use headphones with it.
