Safe OC 8700K temp during Timespy Extreme?

Does anyone know what a safe, stable, long term high temperature is for the i7 8700K?

 

Is it 95C like it says on the Intel site for max temp or is that short time and requires lower for long term temps? ?

I wouldn't be comfortable running it over 80c for long period of time.

At 95-100C the CPU will start throttling itself to drop its temperature, so you want to be under that at all times.

Personally, I prefer my 9900K to top out at 80-85C in the short turbo boost, and 70-75 during longer 100% loads. Normally this is already a little high for me, but the 9900K is just a really hot running chip so I can't do much about it, but that's just me I guess.

During Time Spy Extreme ideally you shouldn't see temps jump over ~70C, as it's mostly meant to stress the GPU, not to pin the CPU to 100% load, so you want to have some headroom for when the CPU will actually be running at 100% (when rendering, stress testing, etc).

90-95°C are long-term temperature ceiling assuming you have sane voltages on it (sub 1.4V, preferably around 1.32-1.35V), short-term ceiling may be even higher. I wouldn't worry with anything sub 90°C.

95°C is fine for long term on stock. 

But for OC you definitely want to keep it lower, preferably at around 75°C to 80°C since you will also be pushing higher voltage.
