Vega 8 vs Vega 10?

Eternia

I’ve decided to buy a low-end laptop with either a Ryzen 5 3500U or Ryzen 7 3700U. Benchmarks (and some test videos) show that the Vega 8 in R5 is the same as the Vega 10, or in some cases, outperforms Vega 10. Because of this, I'm torn between Vega 8 and Vega 10.Which one do you think I should buy?

(I'm a 20-year-old student and I game at lowest settings,720p)

If you expand the Vega 8 results, there's a 1 or 2 2200G results mixed in so yup, desktop Vega 8 is skewing the result.

I see. So that pretty much answers my question then. Gonna go Vega 10. Thanks to you both Zagna and FloRolf!

Which model?

If compare 3500U and 3700U with dual channel RAM and same power limits, Vega 10 will be slightly faster but the price increase is usually not worth it

Desktop specs:

HP Probook 455R G6 with R5 3500U and 8GB single-channel RAM(upgradable to dual channel 16GB)

Lenovo S145-15API with R7 3700U with 8GB dual channel RAM(upgradable to dual channel 12GB)

The price difference between these two models in my region is negligible

Why do you think I should ditch Lenovo? What is the difference between them?

Build much better, larger battery, better input devices. Might have TN panel though depending on variant

I see. Will there be an obvious performance difference between these two models?(note that both will be used in dual channel mode)

Not sure about the power limits in both models but should be 15W (default)

Open to other options?

So, when the power limits are the same, the performance is similar?

Unfortunately, no. I have an extremely tight budget.
