Hp Envy x360

Nivi

It is my first post on any forum in 27 years of my life... However I have found myself quite stuck. I'm looking for replacement for my MacBook Air from 2014 (late? I'm not quite sure). I have landed my eye on Hp Envy x360 '13 Ryzen 7 -3700U (16Gb ram) , however with this model I'm quite worried about thermal performance, but small form factor with all aluminium chassis is speaking to me. This one will cost me around 1100USD (1,5 monthly pay). On the other side Hp Envy x360 '15 i7 - 8550U (16Gb ram, one free slot. 1200USD) this one is looking quite bulky for me (currently living with work Thikpad L480 as daily driver. Both of them will be used for web browsing, Netflix, YouTube, learning of programming/databases and low spec games (Terraria/Factorio). Which on would you say its better... Any macbook is out of my scope, as much i love designee of Mac Pro it its for me like 3-4 monthly pay for satisfying configuration, which is to much for split paymant for 2-3 year

May want to check out surface pros, similar spec range and slightly cheaper and can use them as a tablet if and when you want.

Just a thought

If I am going to be stuck with laptop for at least next 3-4 year (not faster unless i will get high boost in my raise (for me it is 2-3 time at least)  I would opt for 3700U

Get a business laptop (eg Thinkpad) instead of consumer grade laptop like HP Envy, they have SFF options as well

Are you buying in US? Max budget?
