Should I put my own fans on an AIO?

Like is it worth replacing the 3x 120mm fans on a 360mm aio with 3x 120mm fans of my own? I’ve noticed that the fans are interchangeable and I’m wondering if maybe an aio will get better performance if I put 3x high performance fans of my own on it instead of the default fans that come with it?

Well it depends on the specs of the fans and the specs of the new fans.

If you're going for more speed than it's worth it, but if you're going to stay around the same speed it's only worth it if the original fans are garbage.

What is the AIO?

What is the AIO?

Currently I just got this one and waiting for it to arrive.

But I’m wondering if I should put my Corsair LL120 RGB fans on it instead? ?

Those fans will have worse performance but not be as loud.

Why do you say worse performance?

I think they’re pretty good fans.

They weren’t exactly cheap at $30 per fan and so I would hate to not be able to use them :/.

Yeah but not everything is about fan speed.

Its also about the engineering behind the design.

I think LL120s are so expensive because they’ve been designed to perform really well at low noise levels and lower RPM.

Whereas some other fans have poor design and rely solely on super fast RPM to get the job done.

Uh, no, I'm not talking about fan speed at all.

It's about the performance specs on how much air they move.

Which is cfm and mmH2O.

Which is on the spec sheet.

Which is why they perform worse.

Eh idk about how that stuff works but I do know they are good fans.

I might just have to use them as case fans instead though if the ones that come on the aio perform better since my 8700K runs pretty warm and I intend to do a 5 Ghz overclock.

Im pretty sure the 360mm aio I’m getting will keep my 8700K a lot cooler than my Kraken M22 120mm aio.

It's not that difficult.

Both the airflow and air pressure are higher for the CM fans, and so is the noise level.

That means they perform better and are louder.

Well I guess I’ll leave the CM fans on the AIO and use the Corsair fans as case fans.

That way should work fine too. ??‍♂️
