PCI-E WiFi-Card in x16 slot

JFE

So basically i want to use a B450M Mortar Max (MSI), a 1660ti and a PCI-E Wifi-Card (yes i know i should use ethernet).

The 1660ti will block all PCI-E x1 slots, so the Wifi-Card will have to go into the secondary x16 slot.

Will this mess with my GPU regarding lane allocation or am i good to go ?

Wifi-Card in question https://www.amazon.de/TP-Link-T4E-Netzwerk-Beamforming-802-11ac/dp/B07MDH8HV4/ref=sr_1_3?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=wifi+pcie&qid=1579451918&sr=8-3

Thanks in advance.

On that board, the second full-size PCIe slot shares PCIe lanes with the M2_2 slot. So you wouldn't be able to use that second M.2 slot, but the PCIe lanes for the GPU would be unaffected.

So i would be able to use a m.2 nvme ssd in the primary slot and be all good ?

Edit : i assume the "turbo" m.2 slot is the primary slot.

Yep. That M.2 slot gets its lanes directly from the CPU, while the other one gets them from the chipset.

Amazing, thank you.
