Hello guys,

check the PSU tier list in the PSU section for a reliable PSU.  They all have the same connectors and do the same job, so they are unlikely to become technologically obsolete as long as the ATX standard exists.  PSUs go bad all on their own.  They’re a different kind of part than a CPU or motherboard.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

The TX550M... it's only behind the RMx in there but for a whole 14 dollars cheaper why not.... you'll only get a bit louder fan and it's semi-modular instead as cons pretty much.

550W is enough for very high end rigs, you don't need 750W.

PSU Corsair TX550M you think this would last long enough ? Don't want to purchase another stronger one down the road for example in few years or so ? What about the rest of them :

PSU Corsair RMx Series RM550x 80 gold - 99 eur.

PSU Corsair TX750M, 750W, 80 Plus® Gold, 96 eur.

PSU Corsair CX750, 750W, 80 PLUS Bronze 90 eur.

GIGABYTE G750H 750W, 80 Plus Gold 88 eur

EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GM 650W SFX, 80 PLUS Gold 99 eur.

SILENTIUMPC Supremo FM2 Gold 750W 80 gold - 95 eur

i guess they are okay choice but a bit more expensive? Which one would you choose if let's say PSU Corsair TX550M was not in the list.

I already told you the TXM is only behind the RMx in the list and not by any meaningful much.

If you don't want to save up the TX550M you can pick the RM550x but all you're getting is modular 24pin and less noisy fans for the most part.

Sure but 750w is for SLI machines and massive over clockers.  What about, say, 600w?

It’s A tier. A bit pricier than some of the others.  The difference between the cheapest and most expensive not counting the tx one, which was mentioned, and The silentium which isn’t on the list at all that I can find is 12€ and one tier level.  It’s kind of a hair splitter.  Sure.  Why not.  Or any the others mentioned for the reasons given.    The 550s will be closer to peak efficiency for greater periods because the machine won’t spend most of its time at full bore even when it’s on.  The 650 is closer to peak efficiency when it is.  It’s got a touch more oomph than the 550s should you wind up upgrading something.  There’s sort of an effective wattage limit for single GPU atx systems based on the amount of heat a two slot GPU can radiate, and the 650 meets it.  I personally feel there’s basically zero difference between semi modular and full modular if you’re not resleeving cables because the motherboard power will always be used.  Even non modular is kind of debatable because while you wind up with unneeded stuff in your case at least you always know where the cables are.

Well if you ever have to overclock a 10900k and put a big gpu in the mix at least you’re prepared
