144hz won't go beyond 75 hz.

I just bought a aoc 24g2u which is a 1080p 144hz monitor. I am using a displayport and i have a rtx 2060. The problem is that i cant get it to 144hz. I have tried windows settings and Nvidia control panel but i can't go beyond 75 hz.

So you try to set it above 75hz and the screen goes black or you don't see an option to go above 75hz?

 

You could try a different cable. DVI, HDMI, DP should all work at 1080p 144hz.

It doesn't show an option above 75 hz. I already tried a HDMI cable

Nvidia Control panel > Change resolution > Customize > Create custom resolution > Set refresh rate to 144hz, set 1920x1080 correctly

I already tried that, when i press test it goes black for a few sec and than it goes back and it didn't do anything. I tried making one with just 75hz and that did work

So if the monitor can't display above 75 then the panel is probably faulty. Try contacting AOC or just return it to wherever you bought it from.

yes but i have a question. If i go to windows settings and than advancedmonitor settings you see your graphics gard. If i then press see all modi it doesn't show 144hz. Shouldn't my graphics gard Always show that even without a high refresh rate monitor. A friend of mine has a 75hz monitor but he can choose 144hz at the graphics gard. (the picture is dutch but its so you know where i am talking about

You need to to the Nvida control panel and switch it from here.

Are you making selections in the PC section or at the top where it says Ultra HD, HD, SD?

With what kind of cable?

Might have cheap cable issues or display issues. All drivers are up to date I assume?

yes all drivers up to date. DP cable came with the monitor. tried 2 different HDMI cables

Typically HDMI cables do not support 144Hz, I had the same thing with my 144Hz monitor, I had to buy a better display port cable in order to achieve 144Hz. I would try a different display port cable before anything else.

i got the same issue nothing works i got my windows formatted didn't work

So there appears to be an AOC 24G2U which is 144hz but also an AOC 24G2U5 which is 75hz.  Is it possible that people have accidently bought the wrong monitor?

So my monitor got 144 rr and suddenly was stuck at 75. After reading this post, and get no solution, I started thinking about one my self. I use DP so i decided to change the DP on the grafic card, and for my surprise it worked. So give it a try
