Corsair CX550 vs TX550M for R5 2600 and 1070

Go to solution Solved by aSpoink,

I ended up purchasing the TX550M. While I think the CX550 would have been good enough, I think for the extra $30 it was worth it since the TX550M should hopefully last me for a couple of years and handle any more upgrades that I need.

Like the title says, I am currently looking to purchase a new power supply since I don't think continuing to use my current power supply would be a good idea. Right now I have narrowed my option down to the CX550 at $79.99 and the TX550M at $109.99. I am not too worried about it being modular or not since my case(Corsair Air 240) has plenty of room to manage the extra cables. I know that the CX550 is Tier B+ on the PSU Tier List while the TX550M is Tier A. My main question is, is the TX550M worth the extra $30? Or will the CX550 be just fine for my system. Thanks in advance.
