Best BIOS version for OCing 9900k.

Does anyone know what would be the best BIOS version for ASUS HERO XI for overclocking 9900K? The support for 9900K came with the 1005 update, but I'm not sure whether I should run such an old BIOS.

Once they've added a feature to the bios, they won't remove it later. So any newer bios will have the support.

 

Typically when it comes to overclocking your own system, you test each bios and pick the one that yields the best results. 

 

More than likely a newer bios than 1005 is going to support the 9900K better. So yea, don't use a bios revision that old unless it produces good OC results accommodating your intentions.

The 9900k was supported long before the 1005 bios.

1005 came out April 2019.  The 9900k was released in late 2018.

 

Perhaps you're referring to 'R0' stepping support?
