Asus Z97A - DRAM led & CPU led light up in intervals

Hello, i've had an awfully unlucky day, this is just one of the things that went wrong.

So i got my PC back after a while, and i was really excited to be able to distract myself when bad thoughts start drowning mind.

I cleaned the rig, reapplied the thermal paste, connected everything and ran the PC.

It didn't display anything, when i looked at the MBO, the DRAM led was lit, it would be lit for 3 seconds then it'd turn off, after it turns off the CPU led would just blink quickly and then nothing would be lit for a few seconds, then everything would repeat in the same order: DRAM led for 3 sec, CPU led blink, pause, repeat.

I thought it was RAM, so i connected one at a time, it was the same. If i unplug all the RAM sticks the DRAM led blinks and the MBO speaker keeps beeping along with it - also no display.

I took the cooler off again, cleaned and reapplied thermal paste, put the cooler back on, did the RAM attempts again, all having the same, original outcome.

The rig worked perfectly fine before the cleaning.

*I did not take the CPU itself out, so no bent pins or anything.

*Nothing was overclocked.

Specifications:

CPU: Intel i7 4790K @ 4.00Ghz

CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212X Evo

RAM: 16GB 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB

Drives: 120GB ADATA SSD, 500GB Toshiba HDD

I truly hope the CPU is fine, RAM or MBO too hopefully, as i am a broke guy in foster care...

Have you tried to clear CMOS? It might be trying to apply an XMP profile or something on the RAM which could be causing it to not POST.

I tried to by taking out the battery for an hour, no result, but i'm not sure if it did reset the CMOS.

Bump, still the same...

Did you tried connecting display to mobo and see if you get it to post? Your cpu have igpu so it should be able to at least get you into the bios
