Looking for a laptop that can edit 4k on premiere pro and cad for under 1600USD, please help

I’m basing my search off of Adobe’s recommended specs for editing 4k video:

32GB of DDR4 RAM

SSD (1TB+)

7th gen Intel or AMD equivalent cpu (Intel preference, AMD is acceptable)

Windows 10

4GB of GPU VRAM

FHD display or better (IPS preference)

I found a MSI GS75237 on the Microsoft store for 1899.00USD, but I’m not sure if this is a decent deal or not.

I am willing to go a bit over budget if it is slightly over spec.

1tb ssd and 32gb of ram aren’t found for under $2400. Look at a gaming laptop for that lets you upgrade the storage and ram, that’d run you a lot less.

as for 4k editing, any laptop with a 1650 or higher should fit the bill, the cpu on laptops are pretty much the same i7 after $900.

CPU: Intel core i7-8086K Case: CORSAIR Crystal 570X RGB CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H150i PRO RGB Storage: Samsung 980 Pro - 2TB NVMe SSD PSU: EVGA 1000 GQ, 80+ GOLD 1000W, Semi Modular GPU: MSI Radeon RX 580 GAMING X 8G RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4 3200mhz Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E Gaming

Looked at the msi, it’s an absurdly amazing deal, that said it’s a thin gaming which have a few issues compared to the bulky alternatives.

MSI prestige 15 seems good, fufills those requirements.

Thanks so much! I’m more then likely going to shortlist this laptop. Any idea what overwatch/cs:go/rainbow6 frame rates are? I’ve looked at some reviews and they use different games as benchmarks...

you could get a laptop with a 2070 at that price if it wasn't for the prestige being a true thin and light

Hello genexis_x,

I'm in the continental US, and I dont really have a max weight in mind; however, anything under 7ish lb. and with a battery life of preferably over 4 hours unplugged would be nice. My budget is ideally around 1500USD, but I can stretch anywhere up to 1900ish.

Thanks,

Since your preferred max weight is quite high, avoid thin and lights if possible

Under $1600:

Eluktronics Max-17: long battery life, TB3

Eluktronics Mech-17 G1R 62Wh: slightly better cooling

Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52-75DE

Lenovo Legion Y740 15 customize (RTX) / Y740 17 customize (RTX): TB3

Let me know if you have other options in mind

Thanks genexis!

Preferably I’d like at least 1TB SSD as standard, but your recommendations are very nice as well.

You can always add it on your own, not that expensive anyway

Eluktronics do offer high capacity RAM+storage at offer prices
