HELP! Anyone know how to solve this issue?

Hey everyone! I recently bought an ASUS Z370-E board for my computer to upgrade my default gigabyte MB, and after transferring all the parts over and turning on the power button, the computer turns on for a second and then turns back off again. (I am including videos of me starting the computer up as well as pictures of various connections on the computer so you can see they (should) all be plugged in properly).

My Specs are:

  • Intel i7-770k
  • Corsair H-110i Platinum
  • EVGA GTX 1080ti
  • 4 Corsair HD120 Fans
  • 2 SSD's
  • 1 HDD
  • x2 16gb Sticks of 3200mhxz Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM
  • Other components
  • THE NEW MB? (ASUS Z390-E)
  • 750 Watt PSU (Unsure of brand, was a default one that came with the default system when I bought it pre-built at Best Buy 2 years ago)

I have tried:

  • Reseating CPU
  • Reseating RAM
  • Swapping RAM stick placements
  • Reseating (and removing) GPU
  • Clearing CMOS Battery
  • Reseating ATX power cables

Problem at hand:

  1. Press power button
  2. Fans spin up for a second, then stop
  3. Red CPU Light on MB turns on for a second, then turns off when computer turns back off
  4. Draining the PSU of power and replugging it in also doesnt work

The only thing I've changed about my system today has been the new motherboard, so I imagine it's either a problem with that, or the Power Supply somehow not being able to power the new board. I am currently scheduled to bring it in to Best Buy to see if they can take a look at it so I have a fresh set of eyes on it.

Does anyone on the forums think they know my issue or how I can solve it? Help would be much appreciated and I am here to answer any questions you guys have!

Thanks!

- FaTe

Would something like a 8700k or 9700k work for this board?

8700k will work fine. 9700k will need a bios update.

OP's post mentioned Z390 so a BIOS update is not needed for the 9000 series CPUs

First line of his post - Z370-E

Interesting, I must have missed that but then I guess that's a question for OP then because further down they mention

" THE NEW MB? (ASUS Z390-E) "

So probably best to know :)

Well, in this case, we're both wrong and right. OP has to figure out what board hes got so that we can actually help him.

The board is a Z390-E, when I said "THE NEW MB?" I was referencing that board compared to the old board, but I apologize for not specifying that.

I appreciate the help you guys!
