Mouse lags/freezes in Windows 10.

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

Well, I have this problem since 2018. At the beginning, I played in games like PUBG and I noticed some cursor lags in game. I found out it was my CPU which was running at 100% usage at that time when the lag appeared.

Now, I bought a new CPU which is an I5 9600k (The previous CPU was a I5 6400), and this is a beast, but the lag didn't disappear. My CPU is running at 15-30% usage, temperatures are 40-62 C, drivers are the latest.

I linked a video bellow which shows the problem, I hope you guys can help me with it because it's really annoying sometimes.

It could very likely be the CPU and the hardware interrupts it's handling.

Do you have a different computer at hand to test the mouse on?

I did a test on a different PC. On that PC it worked fine. Now i tested an other port, and it's still doing it...

Defo seems to be happening while loading something.  How much RAM do you have?  What HDD/SSD are you using?  What Virtual Memory settings are you using?

Edit: Typo on SSD

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

I have 16gb of ram 1 stick 2133MHz, SSD: SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250gb and a HHD: 2TB SEAGATE 3,5". How can I check my virtual memory settings?

If you do Windows key+R and then in the box type "perfmon /report", we can see in general how your PC is running, and particularly if hardware devices are causing high DPC and interrupts.

The only other thing it could be is the single stick of 2133MHz RAM.  But that's very unlikely UNLESS it's not set up in BIOS correctly

No worries, i have a translator. It would seem based on that error the report tool failed to run. Do you have administrative privileges? If so, it seems like there is a conflict. Try running the report again. If it fails, there is DEFINITELY something going on.

Try restarting the computer and running the report one more time. It's possible that may allow you to run it. But, I have never seen the report tool outright fail to run like that.

In addition, make sure you are an Administrator user. You cannot run this without Admin privilege.

It still shows the same error, I'm Administrator.

Then for some reason, there is another reason hardware polling/the data set is being locked. You almost certainly have a conflict going on then. Hmmm, lets try something else then. Windows+R and then type in msinfo32. Go to the hardwareresources in the left pane and then click conflicts.
