Chrome going into windowed mode after full screening

Title explains it all. Whenever I try to full screen on a website such as YouTube, My chrome window exits maximised mode and enters windowed which really bugs me. I've seen others use 3rd party snap programs but they don't seem to work but make my problem worse.
