Switching from AMD to nVidia, need help with drivers

Hello everyone, hope you guys are doin' good. So I plan to install my 1660 super into my system tomorrow and I want to know what the best way to get rid of the old drivers (RX460) and install new ones. Do I really need to use DDU or can I just use the built-in uninstaller and do it that way. And are there any things that I should stay away from. BTW: I can even reinstall windows if absolutely needed but I prefer not cuz I don't wanna re install all the apps just yet. I will eventually do it but tomorrow is not the day.

If you want to remove all traces of your previous drivers, use DDU.

It can be done with the respective driver uninstaller, but it does leave traces, which have been known to cause issue in the past in some instances.

For me, it's an extra five minutes, it's worth using DDU just to minimize any potential issues.

I used DDU when i switched to NVIDIA,it worked great.

Generally, no, not for a GPU swap.

Use DDU from safe mode, shut off the system, then switch the GPU.

I'd also recommend having the Nvidia driver already downloaded to the desktop. Occasionally on a GPU switch, web browsers can spazz out.
