Cooling my CPU

yeehaw

So i'am planning on getting a new cpu cooler for my Ryzen 5 2600 since the stock cooler is giving me aroung 70C which i don't find comfortable and would rather have it cooler than that, so i come here asking if you wonderful people have any recommendations for me and to judge the cooler i'am thinking of.

The cooler i've been eyeing is the Noctua U12S-SE-AM4 which is 72€ euro where i live and was wondering if anyone would have any other recommendations for another cooler that could be better bang-for-buck coolers.

Thanks for all the answers i get on here.

The dark rock pro 4 is a great air cooler, but runs around $150 CAD.

Also, 70C is perfectly fine on a 2600, especially under load on a stock cooler. The max safe temp for a 2600 is 95C

Those temps are fine.

Asides from temps, are you otherwise not satisfied with the stock cooler?

The biggest reason i'am looking for a new CPU cooler is that i'am looking for something a bit more quiet since basically the only place i can keep my pc is at head level pretty close to me and the wraith stealth seems to be the loudest fan in my pc so thats why i'am looking for something less noisy that would also preferrably keep it cooler.

It isn't just the temps it's the noise that the stock fan makes which is a problem since the place i have to place my pc is at head level pretty close to me.

Also it seems that the dark rock pro 4 is a little too tall for my case since the max cooler height my case says it has is 160mm.

Where you from and how much max you willing to spend on the cooler?
Noctua have great coolers, they are expensive but you know what you paying for. For cheaper options there is mentioned Hyper 212 Black / RGB series, Arctic eSport 34 duo or Gammaxx 400.

If you willing to spend even more you can go aio (of course if you have enough space in the case)

Lol, you think that is too noisy lol, you should hear my old case fans that I ran at full throttle all the time.

Make sure you have good case air flow circulation, and that the hot air is being vented out.

I thought my CPU cooler fan was quiet, but I guess it is because I'm use to my graphics card sounding like a vacuum cleaner.

What case and ram are you using?

Where are you shopping / located?

The case i have is the Bitfenix Comrade without the window and i have 2xCorsair Vengeance LPX ram, also i guess the motherboard i have also matters and that is the Asus Tuf B450 Pro Gaming.

I live in finland to be exact in Tampere.

Hope this helps.

I'am pretty sure my case doesnt have a place to put an aio so i'am limited to an air cooler, i live in finland and the max i'am willing to spend will probably be 100€.

The only cooler you listed that i seem ti be able to get here is the Hyper 212 black, it seems to be going for 40€ so would that be the best choice over other ones like the Noctua U12S?

Also i don't really care about the look of the cooler un-like some others since i'am not going to be looking inside my case that much.

The eSports Duo is a good option: https://hinta.fi/1626625/arctic-cooling-freezer-34-esports-duo-weiss-tower-cpu-cooler

If you want extremely quiet, the Ninja 5 is great: https://hinta.fi/1398367/scythe-ninja-5

If you'd prefer more cooling performance for any more power hungry cpu you might move to in the future, the Mugen 5 Rev. B and Fuma 2 are also excellent options:

You can fit at least a 120mm rad in the rear. Some examples: https://pcpartpicker.com/builds/by_part/jL6BD3#h=2,110

I would get a new case too as that has no real place for intake fans.

Arctic Freezer 34 and Silentium Signum SG1 + 2x arctic p12 pwm pst for intake is under 70€ total.

Either of those Cooler Master coolers will get the job done. The 212 black is just a matte copy of the EVO. If you really want silent performers, check out Noctua or Scythe. Scythe is essentially a cheaper equivalent of a Noctua.

They're alright but not as good as any of the coolers I mentioned.

It's not.

What do you mean by the equivalent?

The Mugen 5 Rev. B is probably best compared to the NH-U14S or NH-U12S and the Fuma 2 is probably best compared to the NH-D14 or NH-D15.

In either case, the Mugen 5 Rev B and Fuma 2 are solid options for the price.
