Australian LTT Early 2020 Buyer's Guide "Just Game" Build

Recommended Posts

Hi. I was looking at the parts for the "Just Game" build (~$500 USD) that Linus did for the Early 2020 Buyer's Guide, but some of the parts are not available here down under in the great land of bushfires Australia. I wanted to try and recreate the build as close to the original budget, but with almost the exact same specs. This is what I came up with. Now, while this build is something I want and can realistically attain, at this point it is still a far off dream. Regardless, any and all suggestions are appreciated, as all money saved while retaining similar performance will be helpful for making the goal more achievable.

Some extra info:

Budget & Location: ~$800 AUD, Australia

Aim: Gaming at medium-high graphics for most games or light recording/editing (if I'm in the mood)

Monitors: 1 monitor, as cheap as possible while retaining 1920x1080 resolution. Might move to two if I want to spend the extra money.

Peripherals: Keyboard would be all I need, preferably wired and mechanical while staying cheap (the whole thing is cheap).

Why are you upgrading: An upgrade would be nice because integrated laptop graphics are terrible.

Better while including monitor.

The CPU isnt ideal, swap for 2600 and dont get a monitor.

Monitor is a 75hz freesync IPS panel.

Took the CPU, GPU, PSU, Storage and motherboard suggestions from boggy, and the RAM suggestion from GoldenLag to end up with this. Only costs a grand total of 2 extra dollars. Doesn't include a monitor because I can probably find one somewhere, and besides, this build won't come to fruition for a long while.

Less storage, but you get a PSU that is more suitable for upgrades as the 450w variant lacks a second PCIe power cable

Ye nah, thanks for the suggestions but (if I do end up actually making this) I'll probably stick with the second one I did, as it has much more storage, and I find it unlikely that I will need to upgrade parts instead of outright making a new PC. After having experienced integrated graphics for several years, as long as it is above 30fps it is fine for me lmao.
