Sync Desktop to Laptop / A unified experience

I had purchased a 2019 Blade in an effort to transition from my desktop to a mobile platform.

The plan was to sell the desktop but, as I’m sure many of you are familiar, it’s been difficult to get any interest.

So, I'm considering just keeping it.

But, I would really prefer to have an entirely unified experience between the two.

is there any way to do this with Windows?

I know I. Could probably use SyncToy or something similar to at least unify the files but. That would take some doing and likely never really work fully as intended. Also, it’s not ideally what I’m hoping for.  What I would like is a fully unified experience.

you could just set the libraries (Documents/Downloads/Picutres/etc.) on the desktop to a network share on the laptop's HDD.

None of these are a 'perfect' solution but I have used a desktop where Documents/Downloads/etc. Folders we're mapped my laptop's matching folders (basically linking them over the network) and it worked fine 99% percent of the time (providing the laptop is always on and connected to the network when using the desktop).

Obviously this doesn't copy stuff like installed programs or appdata but for the most part it works 'alright'.

Personally I use a laptop as my main computer connected to a KVM switch so I can switch over to a more powerful desktop for gaming/processor intensive workloads. If you want more info I can provide pictures and explanations. Doing something like this is really cheap, probably $20 for a USB KVM switch assuming your monitor(s) have multiple inputs and can connect to the laptop.

why no dark mode?
