Anyone into kombucha

My first batch of the year is ready tommorow and I was wondering if anyone else likes or brews kombucha.

I had an ex that brewed her own kombucha. The ones she made were fucking delicious. I'd go through it in about 3 days on my own.

Lol, from my experience alot of people like home brewed more due to the option of flavors and that it hasn't sat for days on end in a store, kombucha is better fresh due to less acids, it still brews in the bottle if it is actually raw.

Well it is, the scoby or symbiotic colony of bacteria breaks done caffeine and oils from black tea and turns them into vitamins and acids, it ends up being extremely healthy due to the probiotics, acids, and vitamins.

Alot of people drink it for the for health benefits, but I like the taste and find it a good alternative to soda.

Amazon is really expensive, I recomend buying from a local brewery or brewery supply store if you can, if you drink it regularly it is a good investment.

Trouble is you can't buy scobys, its illegal or something, so you get them from local fb groups, so I got to get in quick lol.

What country do you live in? 

Its perfectly legal in the US but I have no idea about other countries.

I would just search up brew shops, and call and ask if they carry scoby's, if not Amazon would be good a place.

Weird, maybe do a little more research, from what I've seen it's legal everywhere. Maybe it's postal not wanting to ship liquids as scoby's come in starter tea so they don't die.

The jury is still out,  likely better for you than coke,  But if you are already healthy then plain water and balanced diet is all you need.

Yeah, a lot of people drink it for probiotics and vitamins, there is no debate on wether the probiotics and vitamins are the kombucha it Is what effect it has on the body that is under debate. Also the study brought up the sugar content and I would like to add that they are required to put the amount of sugar used in the brewing process but alot of it is eaten by the scoby and turned into co2, this is why kombucha is carbonated.

I buy the ones in supermarkets sometimes. GTS Synergy. The trilogy enlightened flavor. Only one I like honestly.

It's amazing. I can't stand the ones that add a bunch of sugar to it though. I was at a Spartan race once and GTS was a sponsor and they had bottomless refills with kombucha on tap. Pure heaven

Yeah this batch I made was blueberry mint, my family loves it but it's a bit sweet for my tastes, I used white grape juice and frozen blueberry's as I wasn't sure if the blueberry's would have enough sugar to properly carbonate the kombucha.

Haha, my friends ex-gf makes it at her place. But it's in a huge see through container. There's no way I'm drinking whatever comes out of there

Lmao, if people see it brewing it usually turns them off twoards it, especially if the scoby is not very neat.
