Overclocking RAM on R9 3900X problems

Specs:

Motherboard - MSI MEG X570 ACE (BIOS 7C35v16)

CPU - R9 3900X (replacing with R9 3950X)

Memory - G.Skill F4-3200C14D-32GTZSK https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232378?Item=N82E16820232378 x 2

SSD - Corsair MP600 1TB

Video Card - Aorus Xtreme 1080 ti

 

So my issue is tried the ryzen calculator and set manual timings for 3600 speed and run a few mem test and works fine even after hours of gaming sessions. Shut down the computer and turn it back on and I get the overclock fail error. Tried with the memory try it in the motherboard and on all the 3600 speeds starting from 16-16-16 all the way to 18-18-18 and fails. I manually have set DRAM voltage from 1.35 to 1.4v and every time I decide to shut down my computer I would always have to go to BIOS and put it back to XMP then go back into BIOS after windows boots to do a RAM tweak. So at this point I'm at my wits end on how to make the memory OC stick after shutdown. The memory is on the QVL for the motherboard and yes I could keep it at 3200 C14 but would like to run it at 3600 to get that on par with the infinity fabric clock for optimal speed boost of the CPU. Any ideas?

Second to latest as the latest one just had these updates:

 

Description
- Improved system boot up time.
- Improved PCI-E device compatibility.

Maybe the motherboard isn't that great for overclocking memory? Seems like I read better OC on ASUS boards and thinking of getting the Tier S one your list @Jurrunio

I dont see why that would be the case, I've seen it do very well.

I dont see why that would be the case, I've seen it do very well.

From the other forums like overclockers most of the users there seems to have better luck overclocking on ASUS boards than on MSI and then there are handfuls of videos on Youtube with people using ASUS boards for better overclocks. I could be just wanting to get a new ASUS board so I notice ASUS more than MSI. But yea that's what I'm seeing. Anyways I think one suggestion on another forum I saw was that I should stick to v1.5 as that seems to be better for voltage adjustment for CPU as well. I forget where I saw it but there was a bunch of tests done on voltage adjustments for different boards and all of them even though you have it at 1.4V in BIOS all were not 1.4 when in windows but the ASUS one had the least difference from what was set in BIOS. Not sure if it was a reddit post or some other forum. Searching and digesting all the information I could in the past 2 months had made that info jumbled in my head.

did they bother to test with different loadline calibration settings?

From what I remember reading they did do that but it was towards the original release so BIOS might not have been great at the time.

Got it working now at 3600 stable by putting the voltage at 1.4V. Not what I really wanted but it works and I don't get the error that overclocking has failed and redo the setting in BIOS. Did it before the BIOS update and was fine and just for Sh*ts and giggles I did it after the BIOS update and no change either.
