XFX RX 5700 XT RAW II....

Mister Woof

Preface: I need another GPU for another system. I know the 5700xt isn't really a huge leap from the Vega 64.

So, this guy has been $369 for quite a while now. I've watched a few reviews of it, most seem to feel its better thermal/noise over reference design. All of them pretty much agree performance generally is within so small a margin between all AIBs that it just comes down to noise, thermals, and aesthetics. Reddit reports of this specific card seem generally favorable with the noise caveat, and considering it's so cheap, it seems hard to justify the premium for the higher end cards.

Now, I have considered the likes of the Red Devil ($439) and the Nitro+ ($469) and I just can't reconcile the price difference. $100 (27% higher price) difference in the case of the NItro+, and $70 (19% higher price) difference.

I am coming from a Vega 64 Reference design. Pretty much anything is going to be quieter and cooler than this. I also have $10 Best Buy gift card. So $359 for an XT model. So it's essentially paying $359 for an XT model that is $110 cheaper than the NItro+, and $80 cheaper than the Red Devil. All for pretty much the same performance.

So I got it. Found another $25 Best Buy gift card in the kitchen drawer. Total was $339.99 before taxes.

So far, it is faster, quieter, and cooler than my Vega 64. I put the Vega 64 into my wife's pc and just went down the line. Took me hours of DDU lol.

Downside - I dislike the blue LED colors. I dislike the aesthetics. But it's the cheapest new 5700xt I could find. Happy so far.
