Yea but actually the SIC639 does integrate temperature monitoring so it is less dumb than others, though one difference between it and the 634, is that the 634 can handle higher switching frequency and the 639 has temp monitoring of some sort.

i found the first version of this post it has just LGA 1151 V2 and 2066 CPU socket

so where is the 10th gen CPU motherboards???

i mean the LGA 1200 motherboards?????

OK, I need some help determining if I'm dumb or not.

 

I got into a debate on r/buildapc with another poster about the MSI Z490-A Pro:

According to Buildzoid in this video and this spreadsheet it's a 6-phase with no doublers but extra components per phase. The other poster claims it's a 3-phase with doublers.

 

I'm willing to conceded that I'm just ignorant of what the other poster means by this, as I'm not by any means an expert. Is this actually a stealth 3*2 board?

it's a 6 phase with 12 4C029N in pairs and 12 4C024N in pairs.

It's a fat 6, not a fat 3 nor obese (i.e. 4 sets of mosfets per phase) 3

Just curious what happened, why was B550 Aorus Elite ATX speculated to be A tier, but ended up being Tier D (I believe)? Was looking at getting that board because it seemed to have good value for the price. Also I say believe because of the "Unless specified, boards sharing the same name and chipset in different form factors are ranked the same." notifier, so I figured the mATX was similar.

They are very different underneath the heatsink. ATX one is actually not in the full list atm but you can expect it to be tier A just like the ATX Aorus Pro. Tier D one is the mATX version

Caught up in the 3080 craze, I decided to look at boards. I couldn't find the Tuf B550-Plus (ATX) on the list. Is it the same as the mATX in terms of tier?

It's just a Strix B550-F with different coloured heatsinks. Solid board for ~$180.

I dont, but the consensus on audio is that if the codec has an effect on your experience, you should jump straight to a dedicated sound card. Onboard audio codec just hasnt improved that much.

Yea the tomahawk is the better one out of the two, as for the audio, 1220 and 1200 won't really make a difference, and if you care a lot about audio a lot, you can just get a dedicated sound card which will probably sound better than even the alc1220.

I have a 3600 overclocked 4.2@1.18 which shows EDC drawing 120A on a ASRock B450M Pro4. Is it safe?

EDC is the peak current limit, not an actual reading. It's fine because the board's not supposed to maintain EDC limit.

So when the cpu is under load, the board shows the maximum peak current limit it is able to provide? It seems to increase with temperature where it was 98A with a beefy cooler but increases up to 124A with the wraith stealth.

 

Another interesting bug(?) is that the EDC is limited to 90A if I don't set PBO limits to auto or enable it with any value than 90. Should I leave this on stock then, would it affect the OC?
