Somewhat tempted to sell and buy another mobo(X570 tomahawk maybe?, or something with nice aesthethics to fit my case) but not sure if it's even worth the time and money

If Zen 2's anything to go by, in terms of power consumption, yeah it should be more than enough. We don't know what these new chips will actually be like though yet, so we'll just have to wait and see.

fair enough, though sometimes i wonder if i should've just kept the tomahawk lol, though the ridiculously low 5 usb port on the back would force me to use USB hubs(might not be much of an issue probably for gamepad/printers)

Well this video is out now..

testing a lot of b550 boards.

essentially, the vrm for these boards:

B550 A pro: the vrm controller is an IR 35201 with 5 4C029N and 5 4C024N doubled with a bunch of IR 3598's for the vcore.

B550 Gaming plus: the vrm controller is the IR 35201 with 5 4C029N and 5 4C024N doubled with the a bunch of IR 3598's for the vcore, essentially the same as the A pro.

B550 Mortar: the vrm controller is the RAA229004 (oh god that name) with 8 ISL 99360's in pairs, so 2 mosfets per phase for the vcore.

B550 Gaming X: the vrm controller is the RAA229004 and 5 4C010N and 5 4C06 doubled with ISL 6617's for the vcore.

B550 Aorus pro:  the vrm controller is the RAA229004 and 6 SIC651C's doubled with ISL  6617's for the vcore.

TUF gaming b550m plus:  the vrm controller is the ASP1106G with 8 SIC639's in pairs, so 2 mosfets per phase for the vcore.

B550 Pro4 :  the vrm controller is the uP505p and 3 SM4337 and 3 SM4336 doubled with a bunch of uP1961's for the vcore.

B550 Steel legend:  the vrm controller is the uP5050p and 4 SIC654 doubled with uP1911R's for the vcore.

those are the boards that were featured in the video.

Yea, the pro4 is disappointing, i was surprised that it was still a 3 phase (well 6 but that's doubled).

was expecting good results from it but yea that did not happen sadly.

What are you powering exactly? They're both okay, I wouldn't go over an 8 core with them for the most part.

If you want a solid, reasonably priced AM4 ITX board, look for either a Strix B450-I or a B450I Gaming Plus AC. Those should be plenty for a 3700X and should run a 3900X just fine with some incidental airflow around the VRMs, and even better with a slight undervolt on that CPU.

Asrock.one should power Ryzen 7 no problem, but Gigabyte one should be limited to Ryzen 5 unless you're willing to let 65w TDP.CPUs hit the power limit all day

Both since Max versions arent different from their standard versions, but you can buy it now? It's announced so long ago but never available

Yes I just bought the B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC 2 weeks ago at Micro center. Oh and is the B450 Gaming Pro Carbo better then the Tomahawk Max by any means??
