New foldable samsung

The new Samsung fold able phone was leaked recently what is your guys opinion on this. I think that it's dumb and they should just focus on improving the galaxy fold. I don't think the future of foldable phones is this, It seems more logical to make them tablet sized instead of halving the size of a normal phone or making them higher. some people say it's the size of a note ten? but it looks so high in these leaked pictures. I just want t know your guys opinion on this. (sorry if there are typos i'm not native English)

Honestly, samsung has gone from being a highly functional phone to just being trendy. Sure its still 1 of the most functional brands. But its just so.. Annoying how they constantly are changing to be more modern with apple and whatnot. When they removed the headphone jack it was just the end for me with samsung.

I know its a leak and most likely a very early prototype but it looks very silly using the s8-s9-s10 body where it just folds in the middle. They would need to redesign the body to more fit the look. cus that looks like someone just broke the S8+ in half...

I wonder how phones would look is Steve Jobs was still around? Anyone can say what they wish about Apple but they did change how we look at phones in 1 generation. Up till his death Steve Jobs kept the iPhone from following trends and created his own. Once he passed it was almost same year they released the plastic version of the iPhone and started making iPhones look like samsung phones with the "apple look". I wonder what Steve Jobs would have pushed if he was still around. It wold be cool to see if it would be different.

He'd make a folding phone at the drop of a hat. Might do something different with it, make it roll into a pen for example. But would use it, as it's form over function. ;)

I was thinking more aesthetically. I dont know if he would do a fold? Maybe a wrap around screen where the phone is 99% screen? where the sides are just software and the phone can be used either way? that would be weird Steve thing to do. But I also think he would keep the screen size small as he was about normal everyday use. They used to make fun of phones with large screens saying you cannot use with 1 hand comfortably and as they used to be more "Professional users" they need 1 hand free. Or something along those lines i prob got half that wrong lol

They are easier to fit in pockets and smaller spaces. They also protect the screen. I would love a folding phone. They make more sense than what we have now.

If you look at the actual hardware, at the end of the day, it was all about cost cutting. Then putting it in a nice "package" on the outside. Great designs, but not really the core amazing magic people make it out to be. (Sonos/Bose/etc are companies that do similar, just much smaller niche or markets)

i get that they're trying to be trendy but i don't see how apple plays into this, imo Iphones are really bad now just the big notch the 720p screens on some models. Sheep will still buy them but I don't see apple as a trendsetter anymore. The part about the headphone jack i get i was fortunate enough when i bought my huawei p20 lite over a year ago it had a headphone jack and you were able to get free bluetooth headphones which is really nice now that i have a oneplus 7. I still miss my headphone jack too but you don't find a lot of good phones with them imo.

i feel like apple's hardware is really weird from the 720p screens to the notch to the small batteries. i get that their cpu is pretty good and doesn't need a lot of power but why not take the space that u have an put a good battery in them. if they had a 3500mAh battery it would last much longer.

The new Razr is better designed than this Samsung foldable phone, but the future of phones? Sure if you like paying over $1,500 for a phone you can't put in a case. I'll stick to a glass rectangle that still has a headphone jack.

that's what i was trying to say they have huge batteries that are like what 3000mAh? why can't they put a bigger battery in it? the phone is pretty thick compared to other phones and not to mention the iphone 11 has a 720p screen. for what 700 bucks for the base model you should be getting a lot more.

I mean I know plenty of women who have a hard time fitting their phone in their pocket because apparently most of their clothes are made with ridiculously small pockets so maybe it would allow for them to fit their phones in said small pockets? That being said most of them just put their phone in their purse so idk how useful that would be.

I mean are you pointing out the similarities in PPI to show that 720p isn't that bad of a resolution or that the screen is expensive to make? At the view distance for a phone the PPI is going to look worse than an 8k monitor at a distance for obvious reasons. As for price there are plenty of phones with 720p screens for significantly less as well as phones with better screens for the same price as the iPhone. I mean I bought my phone new for less than 300 dollars and it came with a 1080p screen so I fail to see how hard it could be to do the same or better for a phone that is multiple times more expensive.

well folding phones are a trend now, i can only see it's use, aside from being a small factor, i can close the phone immediately if someone is peeking at it. ???
