Your build strategy

When you buy a pc or components what's your strategy? Do you go for the best like ryzen 9 anbd 2080ti and hold it for 6-7-8 years or you go for performance/price like ryzen 3600 + 5700xt and uprade it after 3-4 years or what else you do?

I buy a good mobo and upgrade CPU when it is too slow e.g. X570 and swap CPU every few years. Currently have 3600

What will be your next upgrade? a ryzen 4000 or you will hold and change mobo+cpu later?
