Mouse cable extension

Whiro

So My pc is connected to TV in living room, when playing I’m sitting on the sofa, at the moment I’m using ethernet cable with rj45 to usb adapter so all cables are routed around living room ( don’t want them to go through middle of the room cos of the kids). Is there any other way to do it ? I’m asking cos time to time mouse and keyboard gets disconnected and reconnected ( very randomly).

Get a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Get one of those long usb cables which have signal amplifier built in and a powered usb hub (the cable can't carry the power over very long distances, it only amplifies the data signals).

Plug your keyboard and mouse into the usb hub.

Here's an example: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Active-Extension-Cable-Female/dp/B01L81WQ2O/

While USB 2.0 is good for 0.5A, like I said, because of the long distance, the cable is only good up to 50-100mA (0.1A). That's enough for a mouse or a keyboard, so in theory you could get two such cables and plug keyboard and mouse in them.

If you have some fancy keyboard with lots of leds, or a mouse that consumes a lot of power, you're supposed to use a USB hub which has its own DC adapter, so that the usb ports the hub creates are powered from the DC adapter and not the long USB cable.
