PC Build Newbie

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

Hi all!

I'm new here and quite new to PC builds as well, I live in Canada and I have saved up a decent amount to get myself a new gaming PC. First thing I want to find is a good Canadian company where I can get and build my PC from. (Want to avoid the shipping costs and problems of using a US based company) Any and all help is greatly welcome!

Not that I have ever seen, online it shows everything in USD and can't find any Canadian versions of the site.

Not from Canada, but don't you guys have micro center? Or is that just in the US.

There’s Amazon Canada and Newegg Canada too.  They might all have the same issue though.

www.pcpartpicker.com has Canada as a nation option though.  It might give the OP at least some choices.  I did see some clearly and obviously Canadian companies there.

Memory Express, Canada Computers are your best bet. NewEgg in Canada sucks. Amazon is a possibility as well but they're pricing usually isn't great, nor is the selection. You'll have to pay for shipping though.

I am in central British Columbia, also I am hoping to go with a company that would build the PC for me after I picked all the parts, then send it to me. I am not all too confident in building it myself.

Memory Express would be my recommendation. They price match online, they dont over charge to build and they carry quality parts with a good warranty program if you are wanting more than manufactures. I believe they do build to order through their online center although youll have to double check, I know they do it in the store. What kind of budget are you dealing with

I wish I made the money I make in Canada in the states. With stores like microcenter Id be building a pc every 6 months and not waiting for 2 months for water cooling parts to come in

Lol that was some funny politics talk I'll give you that

Obviously I want to go as cheap as possible, that being said I'm able to go to the $2000 CAD mark without sweating too much about it.

I have looked at Memory Express a little so I'll look into them some more from the recommendation.
