Next build

niofalpha

So after 5 years, 4 coolers, 3 houses, 2 motherboards and 1 RMA my old rig is on it's last legs. I want to have a build ready for when it croaks, or sooner if I decide waiting for the next generation of hardware just isn't worth it. I'm trying to stick to a black + RGB color scheme, and I already have the SSD. I'm trying to spend around $900 with out a GPU or storage. I'm also interested in other cases, I don't have much space in my apartment and I need WiFi. I also have a PCIE sound card I'm bringing over.

+ my old 980 until next gen GPUs drop is what I've decided on.

Now, I've stopped following tech news as much as I did when I built my first rig, I see that Intel's projected 10th gen Desktop processors aren't predicted to be that great. On top of the generic "will it fit, is the case good, etc" questions, should I wait a few months to build, or should I buy it now?

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

And the next day I write this;

G O A M D on the CPU.

At the moment there is no sense in getting a intel CPU besides competitive 240FPS gaming in some titles. In games the gap is real close between i7 9700 and Ryzen 3600/700 but in EVERYTHING else especially the 3700 busts the i7s a...... :D

SSD: Bit overpriced

PSU: okay but there are better/cheaper at the same perf options
