High CPU usage while playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Hi, my cpu and gpu usage is constantly hitting 100% while playing this game. CPU temps are around 55-65c and gpu temp is 70c. When playing other games my cpu usage is usually at 30%. I was wondering if this is safe and is there any way i can lower cpu usage?

My Specs are: i7 7700k,RTX 2060 6GB FE, 16gb RAM (2x8),650W PSU.

Thanks!

Capping the framerate might help bring the CPU usage down a little if you're getting >60FPS, but Assassin's Creed Odyssey is known for being very CPU intensive so probably not a lot you can do.

Everyrthing is fine there. The low end CPU is meant to run 100% in such a game, lowering the CPU usage would result with diminished performance.

The only real option for you would be to upgrade the platform.

100% CPU and GPU usage while gaming? That's what you call maximum efficiency ?

In all seriousness, ACOD is notorious for eating low-core/thread count CPUs for lunch.

The fact your gpu seems sufficiently fed is reassuring that you're doing ok. If your gpu usage was low and could usage high, it would be bad.

Lowering settings / capping framerates could potentially help tho.  For *free*  :)

Maybe cranking up the memory speed can improve performance? But this is what I expect from this game, my 2600k is also being eaten alive.

^^^ Yep. AC:O spanks anything with lower than 6 cores and/or low single core perf, and not in the good way ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

In my experience it usually keeps very very stable frametimes though, even if you do drop fps it's usually smooth af.

^^^ Drop volumetric clouds to medium (no visible difference unless you take screenshots at a high res then exit the game and compare them side by side), fog to the lowest setting, and bam that's usually a solid fps increase.

Would also help, as would OCing the CPU itself. Likely won't lower CPU usage at all (but no worries there unless you drop fps, the CPU itself is fine to run at 100% load 24/7 for 5-10 years or more), but will increase performance.
