question for dual channel

hi guys i got a question for this since my motherboard is very old b75m hd3 gigabyte and it only got 2 ram slot  is it always running dual channel what ever memory i put on the ram slot like 1 4gb 1 8gb  ???

for proper dual channel, you should have identical sticks with same capacity otherwise like in your case different size of ram sticks can cause limitation such as going over 8gb usage won't be dual channel because of sticks being different size.

Yea, if you have two different sticks with different speeds, the pair will run at the lowest speed. If you are in need of new RAM, now is a great time to buy RAM is very cheap right now
