Wait, are your games on the HDD or SSD

They are on the NVMe. I think a while back i tested it at something like 3.2gb/s

As far as i have seen it only has the one M.2 Port. Thought it shared with one of the 4x slots.

Idk, you’d have to check the manual.

I put mine in what I thought was the right one. Used it to store recordings while playing. Large lag spike when ever it would start or end. Moved it to my other spot and it was fine.

That was before I started using it for windows and having the game on it so idk if that could be more of a strain or not.

Try moving it off your boot drive (assuming the nvme is) and see if anything changes?

I run games off my boot nvme without problems, but I've read reports that others have.

It only has one socket and all it says is its 4x and that IF its in SATA mode it disables SATA 1 and 2. Its not in SATA mode.

The NVMe is only games. My raid 0 SSDs are my boot drive currently.

Would also like to point out that when i installed the 2070 Super even thought the previous card was Nvidia i still ran DDU and installed the drivers from scratch, in case that comes up.

I wonder if your raid array maybe causing problems.

I am a systems programmer for an older MMO that is a nightmare to set up the development environment for, I would absolutely hate to have to reinstall windows... I hope it doesnt go there. From installing and configuring all the programs to getting all the branches off of git, to making the changes needed to run the servers locally for testing it can take a few days to set that crap back up.... i think i would literally cry.

Raid 0 is striped, right? Does that actually help much for SATA ssds?

Last raid array I ever remember isint was a striped pair of 7200rpm hard drives and I can't say it helped much. But that was mechanicals.

I thought it almost doubles the read/write on large files. I dont know if it helps much on small files though. I was under the impression SSDs saturate their connection and when you Raid 0 you give 2 paths for the information to travel, i honestly dont know much about it so that was just a guess when i did it. I did raid 0 primarily for the single drive with more space Since the project i work on has hard coded references to the C Drive and symlinks can be a bit of a pain with it.

Thanks for your attempts, i was always just assuming i needed a new CPU but now that there is likely a problem not just an under powered CPU, it points me in the right general direction.

Bit the bullet and reinstalled windows... no change. Does exactly the same thing, im thinking its more an issue with the unity game engine and optimization than it is with my hardware.
